Welcome to CMXI MEDIA
Thank you for visiting CMXI Media, dedicated to helping the heroes under the headset aka 911 Emergency Dispatchers. The emergency communications field is in need of all the help they can get. Most of the time understaffed, underpaid, and the last to be thought of, the personnel under the headset need a helping hand. CMXI Media wants to lend positivity and wellness that is within our control to help those under the headset.
About CMXI Media
You may be asking yourself what on earth is CMXI? Well it is 911 in roman numerals! What a spin yea? I am excited to bring CMXI Media to life as it has been on my heart and mind since 2020. However 2023 was the year chosen to bring everything to life. I want to inspire positivity and wellness throughout emergency communication centers. Their are many things that are often out of our control, better pay, reclassification, time off and just better treatment all around. I want to help the heroes under the headset. We need all the help we can get, and I want to be there to share things that have helped me, and at times, my teammates, and words of encouragement and help curate a positive, health work environment through small things that we can control and keep our sanity.
Such as these index cards! I made these for National Public Safety Week (NPSTW) 2020, I had asked a fellow dispatchers for 20 words or less, one for reasons why they where the headset, and the other for words for rough days. These index cards are a small reminder and a quick one at that when we need to take a moment to remember, why we are doing what we are doing. For the days that seem like you are doing everything wrong, their are quick reminders to get your through the day until you can actually talk to someone and decompress. I want to make sure every communications center at least has one set. I want to make sure the new recruits coming in, know the journey they are about to embark on and will need these reminders as well.
I was at my former agency for 11 years, 7 of those were in dispatch with my 7th and final year there being a Supervisor. I learned so much their, and worked with some amazing people that I was blessed to call my teammates, and some who have become dear friends I am forever grateful for. In the end I had to leave, I did not want to, but I realized I had to. The toxic environment, favoritism, the treatment of people, extremely poor leadership and communications, being targeted I had to, for my sanity leave. The last few years, and more so when I became a supervisor were challenging. I wanted to make a difference and be that positive impact for my teammates that we were all yearning for, and have trust with leadership again. Although brief it was, I am at a new agency now, that so far is much healthier, and am grateful for this new chapter. I am excited for these cards to get in every communication centers, spread positivity and have the conversations when it comes to difficult centers.

DISCUSSIONS
So many conversations to be had! Coming from a toxic at times hostile work environment, there is so much that I learned. Including the brief time I was a supervisor at this agency, and the positive change I wanted to be a part of, regain the front lines trust that we all yearned for. All resulting in motivation help others.
COMMUNITY
There are so many things coming about to help 911 dispatchers. CMXI Media wants to become part of the community that is assisting, educating, training and taking care of those under the headset.
